Grain Ecosystem specializes in bringing the carbon community together and developing the capital stack for carbon removal projects with a keen focus on biochar manufacturing initiatives. Biochar dominated the carbon removal scene in 2023, constituting a staggering 92% of all carbon deliveries—a demonstration to its immediate efficacy. Recent studies show that biochar captures carbon for longer than previously estimated: in fact, a recent peer-reviewed study has noted Biochar’s potential to store carbon for thousands of years. Verenovo is a unique biochar project in Western NC with a science driven approach to develop a suite of sustainable and resilient agricultural products. This partnership will spearhead the industry and drive interest towards investments into these projects.
Grain will leverage their network of institutional investors, large companies and angel investors to present biochar opportunities for investment. Grain provides Verenovo with their online platform that digitizes and streamlines the evaluation and the development process, providing the essential guidance needed to create this investable project. This online platform will assess the risk of the project, provide insights to align with carbon removal methodologies, and create a cut sheet with a pro forma to present to investors.
